Did Current NC Secretary of Crime Control Help Mike Easleys Nick Danger Cover Up?
North Carolina Secretary of Crime Control Reuben Young investigated former Governor Mike Easley’s secret email activities in 2008 and cleared the governor of wrongdoing, despite the fact that Easley’s press secretary now admits she was told to instruct state officials to destroy emails. Reuben Young was Easley’s chief lawyer at the time. He is currently North Carolina’s Secretary of Crime Control and Public Safety under Governor Bev Perdue. Both Easley and Perdue are Democrats, and many of Perdue’s staff worked for Easley at some time. According to the print version of today’s Charlotte Observer, Young sent a March, 2008 letter to the attorney representing ten different news outlets who were suing Governor Easley at the time.
