Did Construction Workers Catch Tropico Middle School Gym On Fire?
Fire officials don’t give an explanation for a fire at the Tropico Middle School gymnasium in Rosamond, Calif., on Thursday, though construction workers had been making repairs. According to the Kern County Fire Department, at approximately 11:13 a.m., a fire was reported in the gym of Tropico Middle School in Rosamond. Officials said the roof area of the school gymnasium was on fire when they arrived. The first arriving fire crews established a water supply from a nearby hydrant and commenced a fire attack to the roof. Ventilation holes were made in the roof to locate and extinguish the fire which was contained to a small area of the roof and parapet wall, officials said. Eight Kern County Firefighters arrived on the scene along with 10 members of the Los Angeles County Fire Department and Edwards Air Force Base.
