Did Christopher Lee & Peter Cushing ever encounter their older colleagues and idols Lugosi & Karloff?
…I understand that Christopher Lee actually still possesses, and once wore in the movies, one of the rings which Bela Lugosi wore, when he originally played Dracula; however, I’m not entirely sure if he acquired it directly through Lugosi, or his living releatives, or even if Lee had had any direct contact or connection with Lugosi, at all. I’d like to think that he did…sort of a symbolic passing of the torch, for lack of a better explanation…. …I also understand that Chris Lee and his wife were very close friends with Boris Karloff and his wife, as a result of both having worked together in “Corridors of Blood” and “Curse of the Crimson Alter”; even without this friendship, Lee and Karloff share an ironic connection, with both actors having played the Mummy, the Frankenstein Monster, and Dr. Fu Manchu…
