Did Apogee Networks have a bad ODC experience In India?
Yes and No. I will not reel out names. We have not worked with Indian companies from an ODC perspective but we have outsourced projects to India. To say the least, Apogee had a rather bad experience. From our experience, we believe that companies in India have not really understood the demands of US customers. When we say intellectual property; we really mean intellectual property; when we say delivery dates, we mean it; when we say Indian companies have to understand and articulate business value we really do mean it. There is, however, a serious disconnect. I guess it’s a chalta hai attitude which does not blend with a cut-throat company like Apogee. We don’t share the same mindset. In reality, Apogee took the bold step of switching gears mid-way. We changed gears, cancelled the project and moved on. What has been your experience of opening a subsidiary In India?
