I don’t think John Lewis is bargain basement but their prices are fair for the high quality of the goods they sell. My 2 very comfortable armchairs bought from John Lewis 11 years ago are as good as new, They also offfer longer free guarantees on electrical goods i.e. two years rather than one year and 5 years on all televisions. So for major purchases I go to John Lewis everytime.
