Standing at 7 feet 4 inches and weighing 540 pounds, Andre was the most famous figure to emerge from the early days of the World Wrestling Federation. For the WWF, Andre was a marketable talent, a raw mass of humanity that drew crowds. Wrestling fans who grew up in the ’70s or ’80s remember Andre the Giant and his exploits in the ring from watching TV on Saturdays. But away from the ring, Andre, who died in 1993 at age 46, had some larger-than-life habits.
