The Dinosuars were believed to have been whiped out in a mass extinction when an Asteroid hit the Yucatan Penninsula (Southern Mexico today). However, species of Dinosuar and Animals around in those days survived on. Contemporary (todays world), birds are living Dinosaurs they are our closest species to Dinosuars alive today. Crocodiles although Reptiles are NOT Dinosaurs but have been around since the Dino days although the 20ft ones we see today are tiny compared to the 50ft giants the Dinos had to deal with. Many other sea creatures survived too such as Turtles. However, we must known that roughly every few hundred million years the Earth goes thru mass extinctions were 80% + of all life forms die out.
