• A – While the AIM shows seat belt retainer clips for both automatic and manual versions of the console, quite a number of 1967 Chevelles have been seen without the retainer clips. I personally have had four 4-speed 1967 Chevelles with consoles (1 Malibu and 3 SS396) and all four have been equipped with the seat belt retainer clips. Whether I was just lucky over the past 39 years…hard to say with any certainty. Are 1967 Chevelles with consoles and no retainer clips restored with 1966 Chevelle consoles that did not include the retainer clips? I would not venture to make such a claim but there are many a number of 1967 Chevelles on the road today with consoles and no seat belt retainer clips.
