Did Ada County recently get a new voting system?
Yes. Ada County switched from the punch-card ballots where you used a stylus to poke through a card ballot. Now we have optical scan ballots, meaning you darken the oval next to the candidate or initiative you’re voting for. There’s an extensive wealth of knowledge about the new Optical Scan Ballot Voting System, and the public awareness campaign to “Make Your Mark Dark” here on the Clerk’s Web page.
