Tuesday December 13, 2005There’s an old story, though its truth is often questioned, that a woman made the difference that helped win Texas its independence from Mexico. According to the story, a mixed-race woman named Emily Morgan detained Santa Anna long enough in his tent that it helped the Texans win the decisive Battle of San Jacinto. True or untrue?
