Describe what the Central Organization does versus local chapters?
The work of the Demale Society Central Committee is generally limited to setting the policies and goals as well as inspiring the membership. It has always been a highly secretive and word-of-mouth organization. Its strength is on the local level in one-on-one contact, encouraging individuals to achieve the Society’s goals in their own way. Therefore, meetings, helping with each other’s problems, getting direct support and carrying out ideas generally takes place one-on-one locally with all the usual means of contact: email, newsletters, telephone, etc. as well as in actual meetings.
