Derek Jeter: Do good fences make good neighbors?
Tampa, Florida – On Bahama Circle on Davis Islands there are the sounds of a mansion in the making. The huge house going up with its seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms belongs to Yankee great Derek Jeter. Connor Ogden and his dog Yankee are (not surprisingly) looking forward to their new neighbor. “To have him here as a neighbor is something else. It really is, so we’re really happy to have him,” says Ogden while out for a walk with Yankee. And while Jeter can certainly hit one over the fence, a planned fence at his house isn’t guaranteed to be a hit. He wants a six-foot concrete and wrought iron fence. That’s two feet taller than city codes allow and he’s asking for a variance. Alex Stockon lives across the street and is kind of on the fence.
