Define “access to facilities and places” as pertains to under-resourced communities totally lacking facilities supportive of healthy eating and active living?
Access is broadly defined and is not limited to building a new facility, for example. It could be increasing access by bringing a farmers’ market to a community or a work place, by discounting costs of more healthful foods, expanding or revising hours of operation to attract more people, or establishing joint-use or shared use agreements to make existing facilities available to more people. Funds may not be used for construction.
