Death in the family, need help!?

If the deed to the house is in the name of the deceased AND his ex-wife, the girlfriend is up the creek. Too bad they didn’t think of that – or at least divorced the wife. There are no laws that cover “living together” couples. If the wife’s name is still on the house, the best the girlfriend can hope for is a 50% interest in it. If that is the case, a judge can order the house sold and the proceeds split between the 2 women. Foolishness.

Don’t give them any paperwork, until you are legally forced to do so, get a lawyer, posession is 9/10ths of the law….
