>>Indeed! Thusly my ubiquitous nick (at least wherever I am on the web — Seamaiden). >Mostly good news here. I obtained a test kit with a higher range (and less accuracy) and am now receiving an Ammonia reading of 1.0. Nitrite remains just under 2.0. All other parameters remain the same 78*F, pH 8.2. Nitrate something less than 10. I did anticipate your advice for a water change and swapped out 10 gal. as it was all I had on hand (now I have 40 waiting in the wings). Thanks for the support. Rick >>Good to hear you’ve got a better handle on actual test results, and it seems that you’ll just need to sit tight and let the bacteria do their thing. This is what is supposed to happen, with a final result being zero ammonia and nitrite readings, but possibly high nitrate readings (always controllable with water changes).
