Dark grey carpet in a living room…yes or no?
I agree with the yellow (gold), blue (greyed), white (warm) scheme as a choice. Gold is fantastic with Grey! I think running a blue grey carpet will enhance the flow of slate. Choosing another color will only chop up your space. Grey doesn’t have to give you a cave like feeling nor does it need to be dark. It can be a blending medium shade. It is true that if you have a low lit Northern exposure, you would want to use a warmer Grey but Grey is a “classic neutral” as are the beiges and your slate will determine the undertone. In fact, I just toured the Benjamin Moore factory and listened to the 2010 color forecasts. Grey is pulling rank. Look at the dresses worn at the Oscars. Go into a department store, see what is going on there. The undertones of colors are changing with the primary yellows, reds and blues as influence. Yellows will be more golden, reds will be bluer,greens will be yellower, purples will be bluer, greys will be bluer, whites will be yellower, etc. Monochomatics of bl
