Darden is a public institution. Is there a big difference in the manner in which aid in doled out to in-state and out-of-state students?
Actually, there is. The difference in the way aid might be handed out has a little bit to do with state status in the area of need-based scholarships. In that case, because there is a tuition differential ($21,479 for out-of-staters vs. $16,057 for in-staters), we are not trying to cover the complete student differential with additional scholarship monies. So even if an out-of-state student’s budget is higher, based on need alone, we’re not necessarily going to meet the whole difference with scholarship money. We will, however, certainly make all the rest of that difference up with available loan money.
