I’m also still looking for an efficient method of “tracking” students’ participation during the period. The best method I have come up with so far is to use a copy of my seating chart, covered with a transparency, and make “dots” with an overhead marker each time a student participates. These can be quickly totaled at the end of the period or day, and entered into the gradebook. If you find yourself unable to record the marks by the end of the day, simply use a different color marker!
