State enrollees with WageWorks won’t use a credit/debit/ATM card. If an employee receives a card from the NYS-Ride program and subsequently loses or misplaces it, WageWorks cannot replace it. The enrollee would have to buy a replacement on his/her own, on a post-tax basis. However, the MTA stamps a number on the back of unlimited Metrocard passes. If you keep a record of that number, the MTA may be able to replace a lost or misplaced Metrocard.
