Cubase or Pro Tools for music creation?
Hey Wragster- As you’ll be recording guitar I would recomend Pro Tools. Here’s why: Pro Tools is and always has been more of a “virtual multitrack record and mixer”, as opposed to cubase, which is well known for it’s advanced MIDI sequencing. While they both do both functions very well, I find Pro Tools to be simpler to use when it comes to working with audio tracks, while Cubase is more intuitive and streamlined for working with virtual instruments and MIDI. Pro Tools is also more commonly found in other studios, which could make it easier later on down the road if you wanted to send your session to someone to mix or master your tracks. [Not that you wouldn’t be able to have someone mix your tarcks if you use Cubase, it would just be easier since you could deliver your session as it is, without having to bounce each track out individually (or all at once) in Cubase or another application.] However, there are lots of interesting apps for recording, and depending on your style of music,
