Filling a need * Quarterbacks: The Rams return Grant Stucker and Klay Kubiak, who alternated as backups last season, but Kubiak had shoulder surgery and will miss spring practice. Redshirt freshman Alex Kelly, from Rocky Mountain High School, got plenty of reps during extra practice sessions for the New Mexico Bowl. Jon Eastman, a highly rated recruit from Snow College, will participate in spring practice. Orlando, Fla., product Nico Rainieri also has committed. * Running backs: The Rams lose two leading rushers from last season, but Leonard Mason, from the College of the Desert, was rated a three-star running back by Rivals.com and JCGridiron.com and has signed a letter of intent.
