COURT APPOINTED ATTORNEYS / PUBLIC DEFENDER Q. If I plan to deny a juvenile delinquency charge, how can I determine if I qualify for public defender?

A. After you appear at the initial hearing and a denial to the charge is made, you will be required to fill out a financial disclosure form for the public defender in the juvenile clerk’s office. This information will then be forwarded to the public defender’s office for them to determine if you qualify for representation. Anyone applying for a public defender appointment may be required to pay a $25.00 indigent application fee. This fee is non-refundable and is paid to the Court.
