The reason I ask is that it hasn’t worked for me, the enemy just breezes right past the keep, takes the town, and then kicks out my poor garrison in the keep. Thats not good for troop morale Perhaps its because the keep was finished AFTER the enemy army originally set out to attack my town. Guess I’ll do some more testing. — Cerberus: I think you might be right there. I finished building a keep just before an enemy army arrived there. I stuck a garrison in it and they walked on by to my town. I think I might know why. When you send an army to attack a town, the army’s status on the army screen says that they are “attacking”. But if you send an army to attack a town with a castle, it says they are “sieging”. I reckon that even though the castle is built, the incoming enemy army is still classed as “attacking” and not “sieging”. Therefore they go straight for the town and not the castle. One more bug to add to the list.
