Couldn’t I just use a garage door spring to do the same job as the eLegator gate lift kit?
There are two types of garage door springs, a torsion and a stretch spring. Neither one is made to do this job. It takes the correct amount of pull force and coils along with the correct steel to make a spring safe enough to operate and do this job properly. Garage door springs are designed to twist and turn, not to stretch lengthwise. If you stretch it to work like eLegator, you could seriously injure yourself or someone else when it snaps.
