Ulead recently released its own advanced MPEG video compression engine (MPEG codec) named Ulead MPEG.Now. This software codec offers our users efficient rendering performance and excellent output quality. Look for MPEG.Now in all future Ulead video editing and DVD authoring products — starting with Ulead VideoStudio 6 and DVD Workshop. Ulead MPEG.Now supports MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 transcoding and is capable of providing real-time direct MPEG capture from 1394 (FireWire) interfaces. The codec offers high-end video features such as variable bit-rate (VBR) and field & frame based compression.
