In relation criminal legislaion, i can tell you that the public order acts are designed to protect he public at large from unwanted behaviour. Section 5 public order is a person using threatening or abusive language, s4 is directed abuse at a person, s3 is afrray which is basically fightin in public, s2 is violent disorder s1 is a riot. The public order act has s14 gives police powers todal with assemblies of 12 people or more to proest if they are using the protest to inimidate poepl, s12 of public processions to protest. Then you have breach of the peace, which is the ower for police to detain or remove someone who’s behaviour is liable to cause a breach of the peace…this can be any behaiour which poses a serious threat to persons property.
