Could we solve global warming with GM trees?

I’m not sure that the amount of oxygen produced is a relevant factor. It seems that the amount of carbon fixed is the important thing. I don’t see that GM trees are going to solve anything. We already have a huge choice of trees with a zillion differing properties that are perfectly adapted to survive in various environments and to deal with disease and situations that we have not even thought of. I think that more trees is certainly a positive thing in that it benefits the whole ecology in numerous ways. Global warming may or may not be man made but I doubt there is a solution. Its a case of learning to adapt.
