Could Ultraviolet Lights Solve Sick Building Syndrome?
The installation of ultraviolet lights in ventilation systems might just solve some of the health problems associated with “sick building syndrome,” found a pilot study published in Occupational and Environmental Medicine. High intensity ultraviolet lights were installed in the ventilation systems serving three floors of an office building in central Montreal, Canada. One hundred and thirteen management employees worked on these floors; over 80 percent were non-smokers.
