Could This Touch-Senstive Screen be used for Video Editing?

This article at IGN is about a gaming device, but I think it would be cool for video. An Intern at Mitsubishi Research put together a Diamond touch combination projection TV/touch-sensitive input device and a voice commands processor, creating a device where you can touch the projection on the table and issue voice commands. Their demo is for controlling the game Warcraft III, but I don’t see any reason why it could not be used for editing video. Think about it: you could trim video clips by tapping on the screen and saying “paste this into the timeline”, change levels by moving a slider with your fingertip and jog your way through video with a controller on the screen itself. You’ll get a better idea of how it works if you watch the IGN video (as shown on the right) or the demo on the Mitsubishi site.
