Could the seemingly endless war in IRAQ potentially bankrupt the USA?

Michigan is already bankrupt… literally. I do not know what other States are bankrupt. I believe that if this war continues, which it is going to, the nation is going to be bankrupt.

I’m purposefully adding an answer here because my experience with commenting to an “answerbag” answer post is that anything more than a brief comment will not properly post to the site. I’m actually responding to Arisztid’s, “Michigan is already bankrupt” post. While the initial and subsequent comments (including my own) have ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the original topic, this has turned into an interesting thread. Since most of us have gotten “off-topic” (not so much you “Common Sense”), and the discussion has evolved, at least to a great degree, into a referendum on Michigan state economics and politics, I feel the need to make some concluding remarks. Michigan is, economically, in the toilet. The reasons are multitude. I addressed some of the problems in previous posts on this thread. Here is some info regarding the most recently elected Mayor of Michigan’s most populous city, Detroit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kwame_Kilpatrick. I only post this info here in case any reader do
