Could the Paranormal just be another un-tapped branch of Physics ?
Science is very open-minded – that’s why we’re always publishing new theories and new results. That’s why we’re constantly learning more about the world around us. But in order to learn more about the paranormal, first we need to show it actually exists. And that’s never been done – hence the reason science has pretty much given up on it. Find us something to investigate, and we’ll do so. But don’t give us fairy stories and personal anecdotes. That’s not up to our standards of evidence. That’s not how energy works. Energy is the ability to do work. It’s not a thing in and of itself. Any first year physics major could tell you that, so I don’t know what ‘physician’ you’re talking about (that means doctor, by the way, not physicist).
I don’t know about narrow minded science, in my opinion, almost all scientists try to thrive to expand their knowledge base. The only ones I could think of who would want to remain in the dark ages of knowledge would be highschool science teachers. If spirits, psychic abilities, or whatever else could be measured and quantified, then science would be able to work with it. Yes, this would be a new branch of science if this happened. You would see the best minds in the world working with psychics and ghost hunters if this was the case. However, science has not been able to measure, quantify or successfully experiment on the paranormal, which is why it is called “Paranormal” and not nature. Even if a scientist believes in it wholeheartedly, unless you can get past some of those initial obstacles, the scientific process can’t be applied.
