Could the library bring in revenue by selling access to its collections to the surrounding communities in order to mitigate the budget cuts?

The MIT Libraries do allow outsiders to purchase access to much of our owned collection via a privilege card program. The contracts for our licensed materials, however (which include most of our electronic resources), only allow access to the MIT community and prohibit re-sale of the content.
