Could the earths total ant population fit in a mini?

Not even close. You probably couldn’t even fit all the ants on Barro Colorado Island, Panama, in there. Eciton burchelli (one species of army ants) forms bivouacs (temporary nests made when the ants in a given colony link their bodies together into a big ball of ants) that can reach 3 feet in diameter (or more). The number of colonies of E. burchelli on this island have been estimated at 50. According to Motortrend, the interior volume of a 2010 mini is about 76 cubic ft. Even if the total number of colonies of E. burchelli has gone down since it was last estimated, I would think there would still be enough around to fill a mini. That’s not even counting other ant species. This is only the ant population of a 1500 hectare island. I don’t even want to think about what the entire ant population of the world would look like if it were crammed into one place.
