Could the Earths revolution around the sun ever expand?
If the sun were to shed mass, earth’s orbit would expand. Tidal friction could also cause an expansion of earth’s orbit, but it appears the opposite is happening now, as the sun’s equatorial regions rotate faster than its poles do. The earth is unable to rob angular momentum from the sun in the present configuration.
