Could the dyson air multiplier be used as a aircraft engine?
That’s a valid question since it would appear it could move a reasonable amount of air with less restriction to oncoming air. It’s possibly lighter as well as the motor is integral in the rotating portion. First down side is price, considering the fan is 5 to 8 times more expensive than a blade fan of the same air flow. The biggest reason I don’t think it will happen is Jim Dyson hasn’t done anything in that regard. Considering his ingenuity and products from vacuum cleaners to boats to wheel barrows I don’t think he simply overlooked that application if it’s practical.
