Unfortunately, Guaranty Trust is not Central Guaranty Trust – the old Guaranty Trust collapsed, and Toronto Dominion did acquire some of its assets. However, I do not know if they have the old transfer and registrar records from 40 years ago. You could contact them and inquire. You can also try the Province of Incorporation, which in this case seems to be British Columbia, but check the certificate. They should have the most recent information availble on the company. You could also take the certificate to a broker and have them run a more detailed search for you.
