Could Sony reveal the new PS3 at a “Big Bang” press conference on October 12?
Oct 2, 2007 Sony could well be about to confirm the existence of the stripped-down, cheaper version of PS3. The company has revealed it’s holding a “Big Bang” press conference on October 12, which has naturally sparked speculation that it’ll use the event to lift the lid on a 40GB version of the console. In addition to a smaller HDD, reports have suggested that the ‘budget’ PS3 will ship minus backwards compatibility and, oddly, USB ports. Should Sony confirm the 40GB model on the 12th, we’d expect it to be in shops very shortly after the announcement – Christmas is coming, after all.
