The anime before .hack//gu the game is called .hack//roots.Basicly they introduce haseo and ovan from the game how they met. Tri edge kills haseos “girlfriend” and he goes on a revenge rampage pking all the pkkers in the world to find triedge(you know from the game triedge kills you and leaves you in coma in the real world.Honestly you dont miss much.
