I’ve never heard of a yellow diamond spider. The first thing I thought of was a wolf spider, and if you do a google image search for wolf spider, it looks a lot like it. Also, the size– wolf spiders are some of the largest spiders in the world, they could certainly be the width of a cigarette box. I’ve only heard of them in Australia, but wikipedia says they are found all over the world, and the largest in the US. It looks like they bite but aside from some in South America and Australia are not especially toxic (will irritate the area but not seriously harm you).
