Could someone explain to me: 1) how a refrigerator works and 2) evaporation, condensation, deposition?
A fridge works by compressing a gas into a liquid, and then letting it re-expand back into a gas. This is called “Phase change” refrigeration, and is the way a main “refrigerator” works. There is also peltier cooler refrigerators for cars, and vans that operate off the batter to cool a few cans of pop. Evaporation, condensation, and deposition are usually talked about with weather. Evaporation happens when a liquid slowly turns into a gas through dissipation, and pressure variations. With water there is a natural “Humidity” in the air, and if it’s not high, water will evaporate quickly. Condensation is when that “humidity” in the air comes together to form liquid water droplets, like the stuff that forms on a cold glass of lemonade in the summer.
