Hello! My name is Juan and I’m 15 years old. My personal data are simple. I’m in a baccalaureate of science because I want to go to university to study biotechnology. Why do I want to study biotechnology? Because I like everything about biology, maths and chemistry. At first I thought of studying medicine, but I don’t like the work. I don’t want to work in a hospital with patients. I prefer work in a laboratory that is in a hospital with patients. Besides, I don’t believe that I could stand work with horrible wounds or dead people, because I suffer from low blood pressure and I’m nervous. Biotechnologists work in laboratories or industries. This is a new career. It has just three or four years in Spain. [See my comments below.] The function of biotechnology is the handling of microorganisms for a profit (i.e. technology based on biology).
