Could Post Traumatic Stress Have Triggered Marine Vets Attack on Neighbors?
GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — Thursday afternoon workmen replaced the battered front door of a Gwinnett County apartment where two people were shot and wounded by their upstairs neighbor Wednesday night. Police say the attack was apparently triggered because the neighbor, 27-year-old Dennis Dugger, thought the couple was making too much noise. Brian Sarachini, 20, and his girlfriend, Keyla Rubio, 19, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Gwinnett County Police told 11Alive News that after shooting through the floor of his apartment, Dugger then went downstairs, bashed in the couple’s apartment door and continued firing. The 6 p.m. incident set off a 4-hour SWAT team standoff at Indian Trail Apartments that ended when Dugger fatally shot himself in his apartment.
