Could people from flats to rent in Bexley become Olympic volunteers?
People living in flats to rent in the London borough of Bexley have the opportunity to become volunteers when the Olympic Games arrive in the capital. Through Games Maker – one of the UK’s biggest ever volunteer recruitment campaigns – up to 70,000 people from across the city have the chance to get involved in the sporting event. The London borough of Bexley is contributing by training library staff to offer advice to those who may wish to participate. People can also get involved with the London Ambassadors programme, which will see recruits stationed at tourist attractions, transport hubs and along various streets to welcome visitors. Councillor Teresa O’Neill, leader of the London borough of Bexley, said: “This offers us a real chance to leave a lasting volunteering legacy for the entire borough.” She also described the scheme as a “fantastic opportunity”.
