Could Mother Teresa stand up to todays Internet scrutiny?
Hollywood, Pro Sports, Politics and Preachers; no one’s privacy is protected any more. More and more we hear of bloggers, tweeters, faxes and e-mailers getting a hold of private information and smearing it all over the Internet. Sometimes for fun, but most of the time it is to do damage. On one side of the coin you hear, “If they were so concerned about getting caught and being published, they shouldn’t have been doing it in the first place.” Nice… To me this is a lame excuse for publishing “dirt” about any individual one sees fit to damage or more often, destroy. On the other side you have “Big Brother is Watching” conspiracy theorists… these guys may not be so crazy after all. Lohan and Hilton (self explanatory); Woods, Bryant, Vic; Palin, Bush, Clinton; J. Jackson, Falwell, Baker… the list is so long it makes you wonder, “Who can stand up to this scrutiny and exit unscathed?” I even have my 15 minutes of fame. I have been closely watching local council meetings and candidate debates
