Could I possible Uninstall Windows Vista, Reformat my Hard Drive and Install Windows 98?

When you format the hard drive, you clean it, you can install any version of windows on it after that, you can partition it in half and install windows 98 on one partition and xp on the other but it would be better if you add one more GB of ram on it.

Use a Windows 98SE setup disk and run fdisk to delete the non-dos partition on the drive that will get rid of Vista. Set 2 partitions , a dos partition and a non-dos partition. Install 98 first on the dos partition format it fat32. Then install XP on the extended non-dos partition and format it NTFS. When you boot it will give you the choice of which os to load. Only problem I can see is that there may not be any 98 drivers for some of the hardware in the computer. The newer chipsets and the like wernt even thought of when 98 was out.

Are you kidding? 98 will probably have a heck of a time recognizing most of your hardware. Not only that, but it was an unstable POS. If you are going to downgrade that far, and you have your mind made up, I’d consider windows 2000 professional instead. http://www.guidebookgallery.org/screensh… If you click the link above, you will see it has EXACTLY the same boring interface 98 has, but it doesn’t have the same glitches 98 had, because unlike 98 it doesn’t have DOS running at it’s core. It’s basically XP without the eye candy, and without the cleartype fonts, built in wi-fi support, and system restore. Personally, I’d put XP on it and that’s it.

It is possible but there are a few challenging steps to get there. Being brand new, the hard drive is most likely SATA which the standard OEM full version of XP does not have drivers for. There may also be other hardware XP also doesn’t have drivers for. You will have to get the specs for all the hardware and find XP drivers first. Then they must be slip-streamed into the installation. This is done by copying them and the XP cd to a new CD. Here is a link to a site that has a free tool to help do this. http://www.nliteos.com/ As far as installing Win98, I really doubt there are SATA drivers available, but who knows, you’ll have to hunt them down and probably go thru the same process. If you are motivated enough to do this, you should look into buying some good virtual machine emulator software, like VMware, it might be just what you need. By the way, 2Gb of memory is more than enough for any consumer level software.

in order to downgrade you must switch the seagal to the gojoshi and the windows XP will turn into a majenta hue but this will not effect the sidijiggle in your stomach therefore the inkjet refill cartridge might explode in your retina
