It really depends on your teacher, but you are going to need to take more classes (at least 3 a week). I would say that is the minimum, if you were my student, you would probably need to train 3 years or so before I would consider it. Your biggest hurdle is finding the right class/teacher to get you to your goal. Most teen/adult beginning classes don’t really focus on pointe readiness, so after you add more classes and start to gain more strength you will need to talk to your teacher about your goals. Some teachers will be more likely to help you with this than others.

Ironic, because I am fourteen and I just went with my studio teacher and all the other girls starting pointe in a week today to flying d dancewear to get fitted for pointe shoes. You could make it to pointe but it would take awhile to get to it at this rate. Yes, you need more ballet classes because I am about to start pointe and the first week there is day classes for an hour and a half and then there is three regular nightly and weekly classes. Because to be on pointe you have to have the stregth in your ankles and everywhere else. This needs to be determined by a professionally trained instructor. Mine dance teacher tells us pointe shoes are NOT something to play with because there is a reeally high injury risk if your not ready and there’s still one even if your body is ready. Make sure your studio offers pointe too or corse haha, some don’t if they are not ballet focused. Um also consider going in pointe is very expensive.
