The drop-off program is only designed to include leaves and pumpkins. We can’t handle large quantities of organic matter beyond the leaves and pumpkins. We must be selective as to what goes into our compost pile to ensure the high quality of the product produced. Please do not add other plant materials to our drop-off areas. In the meantime we can suggest three options for the disposal of your plant waste: • We encourage you to home compost this organic material yourself. Most plant waste, even tree clippings if they are cut small enough, may be used as an excellent carbon source in your home composter. Visit our Composting area or download our Composting in Calgary (518 KB) information and learn how to backyard compost in Calgary. Find out more about home composting at the Clean Calgary Association or call 403-230-1443. Free composting workshop are available at the Parks Outdoor Resource Centre. Clean Calgary also offers composting workshops (for a small fee), contact them at 403-230-
