Could having multiple usb hubs plugged in?

0

If your broadband connection is plugged into your USB port, maybe. USB hubs send all traffic to all devices. The bandwidth on a usb port is total for all devices. If you have multiple hubs plugged in (and daisy chained?) with many devices plugged in, you have a lot of traffic. The computer and the devices will always have a small of traffic just to keep each other updated. This can contend with your broadband traffic. If you are on a USB 1.0 or 1.1 port, this can quickly overwhelm the total bandwidth of the port. If you are on USB 2.0, it has a maximum bandwidth of 480Mbps, and I’m hard pressed to think why it would slow you down unless you had a physical problem. Try unplugging the hubs and devices and see if the broadband when just plugged directly in speeds up, that will give you your answer.
