Could Food Services staff wear custom aprons?
Black pants and blue shirts are the daily attire for district Food Services employees. While the uniform may not be as colorful as some might want, it is professional looking. The topic of Food Services uniforms came up in a recent Virtual Suggestion Box comment which was forwarded to members of the district Quality Council. An elementary Food Services associate asked if it would be possible for she and her colleagues across the district to get colorful aprons to wear once or twice a week. I thought that it would be fun for us to wear colorful or maybe printed aprons to give a little variety for the kids, the employee wrote. She also suggested the aprons have the school logo on them. Lori Carpenter, Human Resources coordinator for Food Services, appreciated the suggestion, but was concerned about cost, professionalism and the potential confusion of getting the personalized aprons delivered to the right schools. One of our goals in Food Services within the school district is to try to c
