Yes it could. At times like this, when capitalism is failing very badly, people look around for alternative systems. The far right use scapegoating techniques to build a base of support and. They use the politics of fear and hatred to scare people into voting for them. They try to divide us in order to conquer us. However, their rise to power is not inevitable. Here in the UK we have been successful in halting the rise of the far right whenever it has raised it’s ugly head. Organisations such as the Anti-Nazi League were responsible for routing the NF in the 1970’s and Unite Against Fascism is filling that role today with the threat from the nazi BNP.
